Inspired By Psalm 118:24 and Psalm 90:14

The joy of the Lord is our strength. When we wake up and praise the Lord early in the morning, we are prepared to overcome all the power of the enemy. Praise is good and should be practiced daily. (Nehemiah 8:10, Psalm 28:7 and Psalm 84:5)

This poem has its genesis in the Boris Kitty story, God Made Today. In the story, Boris teaches his friends that they should enjoy each and every day because it is a gift from God.

There are many praise verses in the Bible that inspired this poem, but two that had the greatest impact were Psalm 90:14 and Psalm 118:24. Throughout the day the enemy bombards your mind with fiery darts, fear, doubt, unbelief, and sinful thoughts, designed to steal the Word from you, or render it ineffective. By confessing God’s Word, and praising Him daily, you can ignore the enemy’s distractions. Praising God gets your mind off the problem and onto the solution – your Heavenly Father. Praise Him daily, with all your heart.

Jump out of bed and welcome the day

This is the day that the Lord has made

Knock on the door, its fear dropping by

Worry on the phone, just to say ‘hi’
