Sowing God’s Word (The Sowing Song)

Words by Harrison Woodard

Author Commentary

Faith comes from continually hearing God’s Word. And As Jesus taught in the Parable of the Sower, His Word is compared to a Seed. What do you do with seeds? You plant them. But where you plant a seed is critical. It must be placed in GOOD SOIL, which in this case is a pure heart.

Confess the Word continually. Praising God is like watering seeds, it helps them grow. Soon, you will have a harvest of Blessing in your life, if you don’t give up.

Use this song to remind kids of the importance of always confessing God’s promises.

Sung to the tune “Row Row Row Your Boat”

Sow, sow, sow, God’s Word

Plant it in your heart

Verily, verily, verily, verily

God will do his part

Sow, sow, sow, God’s Word

All throughout the day

Verily, verily, verily, verily

Faith will come to stay

Sow, sow, sow, God’s Word

Believe what you say

Verily, verily, verily, verily

Problems go away

Sow, sow, sow, God’s Word

Water it with praise

Verily, verily, verily, verily

Joy fills all your days

11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word.

15 And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.
Luke 8:11 & 15 NLT
